Who

Mikael “Micke” Öhlén

I'm a Swedish developer and designer based in Sundsvall, Sweden. I build websites and web apps for people who'd rather work with one craftsman who owns the whole thing than a faceless agency with a project manager between you and the work.

My mission is simple: grow steadily, keep clients genuinely happy, and build relationships that last. Some of mine have run ten, fifteen years. That only happens if the work is honest — so it is.

  1. 80s — 90s

    On the road

    Living the dream as a touring musician. Years of stages, soundchecks and the craft of performing — the foundation everything else is built on.

  2. The store

    Hi-Tech department head

    Ran the Hi-Tech department at Sweden's largest music store. The first real bridge between music and technology — and learning to translate between the two.

  3. The studios

    Kitchen Recording & Sidelake

    Built and owned two professional recording studios. Worked with top-selling Scandinavian artists. Engineering, producing, and running the business behind it.

  4. 2007

    A Swedish Grammy

    Won a Swedish Grammy for Best Children's Album of the Year — a career highlight, and proof that doing the work properly gets noticed.

  5. Live sound

    Front of House

    Several years as an FOH technician, sharpening the technical, under-pressure, get-it-right-the-first-time instincts that real-time sound demands.

  6. The pivot

    CTO in iGaming

    As streaming reshaped music, I moved fully into tech — eventually CTO at an online gambling operator, leading development across 8 casino and 10 bingo sites.

  7. 2020 →

    Mohlen Media

    Time to do it my way. A one-person studio: design and development, REST APIs in SPA environments, Divhunt and WordPress, CDN and DNS, even 3D in Cinema 4D. Friendly, humane, and a strictly no-bullshit policy.
